Let’s Download Odin for Mac and Linux
Odin does not support Mac OS X or Linux, so keep that in mind. To flash the firmware, however, Odin alternatives such as Heimdall and JOdin3 can be used. Similarly, tools like Samfirmand Frija do not help MacOS. On Mac, Linux, and Android, you can use a cross-platform tool called Samloader to look for the latest update for your Galaxy.
Heimdall - For Mac and Linux
Odin is only available for Windows, so Mac and Linux users would be unable to use it. Don't worry, there's an open-source solution called Heimdall that works on Linux, Mac, and Windows. It's a fantastic Odin substitute, and you can get the new edition from the official website.

Let’s download JOdin3 for Linux
In the case of Linux users, called JOdin3 CASUAL, which requires Java 8 to run. Toby4213 from the xda forums deserves praise for sharing the new JOdin3. Odin is only compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux.
Tips: Extract the jodin.gz file to the appropriate directory: /home/username/programs/jodin/ (for example). Then right-click on the JOdin3CASUAL file. Make sure you already have Java version 8 or higher installed.
Let’s download Mac version of Odin (based on Heimdall)
Finally, a Heimdall-based version of Odin is available for Mac, but it requires Java to run. Its GUI is based on an older version of Odin, but you can still use it on an OS X machine to flash Samsung firmware. I haven't done it with the most recent versions of OS X, so I'm not sure if it still works. Download your favorite version of Odin from the link above and contact us if you have any questions or need assistance with it.
Samsung Odin's features
One of the advantages of Samsung devices is the ease with which stock firmware binaries can be obtained, as well as the ease with which they can be flashed. You won't be able to do any of the following things with Odin.
- Manually install stock firmware binaries.
- New firmware for Samsung Galaxy devices has been released.
- In certain instances, you can also downgrade your Samsung device's software or build edition.
- You can use Odin to update your Galaxy device's CSC (Country Specific [Product] Code) and get your favorite machine language by changing the CSC (Country Specific [Product] Code).
- By flashing the stock firmware on your Samsung smartphone, you can resolve the boot loop problem.
- To get root access and custom ROMs, install a custom recovery like TWRP.
- To improve the performance of your computer, you can also flash modded or patched machine images or custom kernels.
- If your smartphone doesn't display the maximum internal storage capacity (for example, your phone has 512GB of internal storage but only shows 256GB), you can download the Samsung PIT file and flash it with Odin to fix the issue.
- Odin can also be used to wipe the NAND on a Samsung Galaxy unit.
- Start your phone or tablet in Download mode, attach it to your computer via USB, and follow the visual instructions in the screenshot below to install Samsung firmware.
