Update firmware of Samsung Devices with Odin
Step 1: First of all you have to switch to the USB debugging by enabling USB debugging. Next, tap on the developer options by navigating to Settings> About Phone> and then tap on the build number continuously about 7 to 8 times. Enable developer options navigating to the Settings>developer options>enable USB debugging.
Step 2: It’s required to download and install the latest version of Samsung Odin and Samsung USB drivers for your Samsung device. Then unzip the downloaded files on your PC.
Step 3: Switch the device in to download mode by pressing the “Power + Volume Down + Home” buttons at the same time. If it was unable to switch to the download mode, search for the key combinations suits for your device.
Step 5. Next, connect the device to a PC via USB cable. Then go to the folder where Odin files were unzipped. Tap on the right click on the Odin executable file and then run as an “Administrator”
Step 6: You will get an interface similar to the below with “ID:COM” mentioned. Please remember to check the below interface carefully.
Step 7: There you can find a blank space (Notice the “ID:COM) , it would switch the color to blue after the device gets detected. Generally, devices will automatically be detected if you have installed the correct driver files.
Step 8: Tap on “AP” and then navigate to the firmware archive, and locate the .tar.md5 file, choose the same after clicking on “AP”.
Note: Cautions: Avoid placing any files under the “PIT section”, also make sure that “re-partition” is not ticked. You should only check/tick the “Auto Reboot” and “F. Reset Time” options.
Step 9: After the firmware file is loaded into the AP section, then the user can start the process of flashing or installation. Please keep in mind to avoid touching the USB cable during the flashing process.
Step 10: At the end of the process you will get a “PASS” or “RESET” in the green color similar to the above screenshot. At this phase, your device will be rebooted automatically. And then you can disconnect the device from the computer.
